but now the test kit I found are from science lab equipment store
the problem with the test kit are they are not in ppm
rather they are in mg/L

mg/l to ppm
how does it works?
those test kit ranges from 0 to 2.5 mg/L
it should be very difference from ppm
cos my nitrate tester now can range from 0-240 ppm

the ph tester are great constant reading only need battery change

anyone come across this problem?

mg/l is the same as ppm

EDIT what I should have said is you read them both the same. so if you are reading 0.25 mg/l, that would be the same as 0.25 ppm.

I use both tetra and aquarium pharmaceuticals, Tetra uses mg/l and aquarium pharmaceutical uses ppm.

so I should had find a nitrate tester of 40 mg/L, right? cos about keeping it below 40 ppm

and it's ok for nitrite and ammonia to have smaller range cos it just have to be 0

It doesn't matter which nitrate test you get. At the end of the day you were just reading the color which will give you a value of how much nitrate you've got in your water. Normally, nitrate tests ranged from yellow right up to a very dark red. The more yellow, the less nitrate

ya current nitrate test are from 0 to 240 ppm
the nitrate tester I saw is between 0 and 2.5 hopefully they have the one that can test from 0 to 40 or at least from 0 to 20. because for water to get from 0 to 2.5 could be very soon

I guess the Oscar does not like water change too often right?
I'll try to make sure with the him about the stock or I'll keeping searching for the right tools. Because when I visit the store all I see are just catalog no item on shelf to be sure of how it works.

indeed it is strange value but I was told it's very accurate also those tester are not mean for fish aquarium after all it's from medical equipment supplies.
may be there's something which need very specific value like in laboratory use.
and it's expensive it's 2 times more expensive then my current test kit.

that's why I did not place an order right away, so I came here, taking good advise from the EXPERT.

and will be making sure to have a good range of test before buying it

this new sera test kit didn't know about the nitrite it shows 0 ppm
it's a little differences with the JBL
the sera show nitrate -10ppm
the JBL shows nitrate - 5ppm
assuming it's around there then it between 5-10 should be alright

as for PH checker it takes quite sometimes for the value to stop at right ph it seems ph are constant most of the time 7.7

yap dip in and wait for around a minutes then read the digital value
replaceable battery and electrode

ha ha ha again, that is usually used in food production processes
but why not... handy to use thought a little bit expensive LOL

in all 4 important test we need
ammonia, nitrite nitrate and PH
only get PH checker easy to use prices is quite alright RM150 about 45-46 USD
for PH it's ok, for ammonia checkers would cost really a lots heard it from science equipment store
