i just wanted to give an update on my cycling progress. its been approx. 50 days since i set up my new 75 gal. tank. just to remind everyone i had one red oscar and one pleco. in the tank during cycling. i have since re homed the poop machine pleco in exchange for a 4 inch red headed sevrum. todays water parameters are ammonia 0-.25, nitrite 0, nitrate 5.0, ph 7.6. i haven't done more than a 5-10 gal. water change in several weeks now and my water parameters have barely changed any. thinking i am cycled but need the pro's opinions. also to remind, my filtration has doubled since first set up from 400 gph to 800 gph with the help of a second emperor 400 gph HOB filter. also wondered if a dragon goby was out of the question in this environment.

ammonia could drop to 0, and your nitrates are rising.
Your close, or even there.
How did the fish handle it?
Any change in behaviour?
Dragon goby needs brackish water, so that is a no, i'm affraid.

Polypterus or ornate bichir will make a good tankmate and looks quite similar.
Check those out!

the fish are much more active than they were in the 10 gallon obviously, they are both getting used to me[my oscar takes mealworms out of my fingers underwater and occasionally jumps for pellets,so f*$@N' cool!!] yeah its taken about 3 weeks for my ammonia to get where its at but i was worried to do a water change since my nitrates were 5.0. shouldn't they be a bit higher before i change the water?

yes, they may rise to at least 20, mine riase to 40 from time to time, but the fish can handle that pretty well.

Well done on the readings for ur water there mate. I ordered a API Master kit myself and I will have a check to see what readings teh water is in my (little un) in the kitchen. I told TonyT that teh water was cloudy for a bit, I got up this morning and it was like milk...... Eh? Dont understand at all. No fish, no Pooh in it just set the thing up and it does this on me..... Tony said it could be a bit of, I think he said Algae bloom. I could be wrong. Any ideas folks.

I would say you are cycled. When you say ammonia of 0 - .25 you mean the colour is somewhere between 0 and .25. Try testing during the day and check the colour then- you may find it is 0. The lower the nitrates the better it is for keeping fish. You just need to see some with ammonia and nitrite of 0 to know your tank is cycled. My tap water has nitrates of 23, i would love to have nitrates of 5
I can't get no sleep

yeah i do check it in the day time colors are just kinda inbetween 0 and .25 for some reason i think the readings are more accurate if read in sunlight instead of artificial light. only time my tank was ever cloudy like that was cuz of the substrate not getting washed good enough. algae blooms are typically green not milky but you might ask some veterans on that one as i'm pretty new to fish keeping.
