I was watching a program about America's love for firearms. It was very interesting to see the diversity between people who are for firearms, and those who were not.

Handguns were banned in the UK in the 90s after Thomas Hamilton massacred 12 children at the school. I am middle-of-the-road when it comes to guns, I would quite enjoy using one for sport. People in the states have called for a ban on guns, banning them is not a solution & definitely would not work because there are so many of them in circulation, tighter control may save more lives. However, Castles Law in the USA is a little bit scary in my opinion.

I watched a program on one of the discovery channels not long ago and they were comparing the AK-47 to the M-16. Apparently the AK-47 is more powerful, but the M-16 is more accurate. I couldn't believe how much they cost in the United States, I think figures around $20,000 were mentioned, please correct me if I'm wrong.

an ak 47 or the dragonov sniper version are about £500-£1000 here boss and the AR15 is also about a £1000 complete with piticany rails and mounts .....but they are converted to straight pull for the uk ..........the best assault rifle i have ever used or was ever made was the FN /FAL ...308/7.62 but in my opinion .(no offence intended whatsoever win ) they are about as much use as tits on a fish !!!!!!!! lol..... unless you have a contract with shell oils to run spitfire and barracuda escort boats for the supply ships to oil rigs in nigeria to prevent the rebels hijacking and kidnapping the oil companys workers for ransom ........................

hey BGH, is the FN/FAL version the one that have the stopping impact?
i had watched recently in the discovery channel the improved version
of M16 the retains the speed and accuracy but with bigger bullet for
stopping power.
