Nice looking fish, nice deep black colouring.
My local Aquarium had what they called marbled tigers for sale, they are a dark slate grey with either pure white or a slight rainbow colour running between the grey patches, I bought one to put in with my other baby tiger, but he got beaten up and refused to stand up for himself, so I had to give him back  he was a beautiful fish but I guess even at 2" these guys can decide they'r the boss!

Thanks,

He's the only Oscar I have and he hasn't had any issues with any of his tank mates yet - I'm sure that will change as he grows and I have to start moving out the smaller fish before they get eaten

He did have a very minor issue with a solitary Krib I currently have in the tank but that only lasted a few seconds.

if you value the tankmates, keep an eye on the size of his mouth, not the length of his body, I put 2 5" O's into a tank that had 15 neons and 14 swordtails, overnight they ate EVERY other fish in the tank!

Thanks for the warning - I guess I had better move the smaller fish out sooner rather than later. He's only about 2" at the moment but I know he will grow quickly.

i have never had a problem with my oscars eating smaller fish so far. and i have in my tanks some 1.5 inch albino corys in with 12 inch oscars. the oscars dont even pay attention to them. acutally most of the fish in my 220 oscar tank are in the 1-3 inch range and i have yet to lose any.

btw nice pic of your oscar

Well, young Oscar is now about 2.5" and seems to have decided to supplement his food intake with some live fish!

My four Cardinal Tetras are now two and tonight I found one of the larger Tetras beheaded! I know I am putting two and two together and making four but I think it's a safe bet.

I'm surprised how soon (and how small) he has started this - oh well, time to move the little ones to their new tank.

I notice Oscar has started chasing the two Silver Sharks which surprises me as they are both much bigger than him. Should they be OK? I don't have a tank big enough to move them out.
