I bought my O from a petco here, they had him listed as a Tiger Oscar, but I look at other
O pictures here and he/she looks nothing like them? I have seen Tiger O's at another pet shop here
that have the strips and colors.

any ideas?

Even though it's not exactly the same as mine, it's more of a red Oscar than any other I would say

if you are referring to phrase like "just picked up a new o at petsmart" then the "o" thing is a short form for oscar.......

@mbu boy:

O= Oscar
RD= Red Devil
JD= Jack Dempsey

While its difficult to tell the difference between Oscars and Jack Dempseys and even I am new to Oscars. I've had my O for about 6 months but been looking at them for a year.

Your fish looks like a JD.

It can't be an albino because it has some colour. It looks white and the only O's I know of so far are Albinos. However Albinos are all white (like a milky white) but Jack Dempseys come in all sorts of colours as far as I'm aware.

I have been told that even experienced aquarium people have mistaken Oscars for Jack Dempseys and visa versa.

for the fish perspective, yes, they all look the same... but oscar
definitely looks different from JD even during their fingerling stage.
