Do the new iMac computers not have a disk drive? If so, how are you supposed to load a programme on? I suppose you have to buy an external disk drive?

You will need an external drive. Check the power output of the USB ports before you buy the external drive as you may need a powered drive if the ports don't put out the required power. Or you can download any programs you want from the apple store directly to your Mac.

Oh yeah you can also use Remote Disc which reads it from an existing computer with a drive via LAN network connection.

It seems rather strange that Mac decided to manufacture computers without a disk drive. Probably one reason why I would never buy one, I don't expect to pay £1600 + a computer that I then got to spend more money on so that I can put discs in it.
