I am in love with Vista

I never thought I would say this but I absolutely love Windows Vista. I replaced two computers a few weeks ago and purchased a couple of custom custom-made PCs that were basically made for gaming. They came with Vista home edition 64-bit which I thought initially was going to cause a problem. However all my programs have loaded okay. My version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking would not work on a 64-bit system but since it was a genuine copy and I had the serial, I could download the full 64-bit from their website for free.

Vista is so user-friendly, it's just fantastic. I particularly like the way they have built-in a purpose download section so you always know where your downloads are going . They have also got their own speech recognition built in. I haven't used it much yet, but when I did use it I was extremely impressed at its accuracy.I could go on about how good it is but I will probably bore everyone to death.

Obviously this has all the up-to-date hardware and you really do notice the difference between this PC and one that is only 2 1/2 years old. My speech recognition software used to take around one minute to load on my other computer which only has a Pentium D processor, two gigs of RAM and XP. Seven seconds on this PC, that's one heck of a difference.

Don't let anyone tell you that Vista is crap, I use a lot of applications and I have come across absolutely no problems

i have to agree with you boss. ive been using vista for about a year and a half now and in general i have no negative things to say about it.
i dont use as many apps as you do but i do a lot of gamming and i have yet to find any conflicts with any of the games i play.
i find it very user friendly and recommend it to anyone who wants a relatively stable operating system that so far has run great on my pc.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

I have got Vista on a laptop that I hardly ever used and I really didn't like Vista, probably because it is quite a bit different to XP. I don't suppose the fact that the laptop had less than one gig of ram helped.

Both my new PCs have got the Intel dual core something or other (unfortunately the inside of computers baffles me) the PC I'm using at the moment has got 4 GB DDR RAM and the other one has got 6 GB. It's not until you have this at your disposal that you realise how much difference it makes.

I just can't imagine using XP ever again.

I wasn't convinced that Vista was any good until I started using it. I would not go back to XP for all the tea in China. I am on 64 bit system which I'm led to believe is a lot quicker than 32-bit. All my programs load unbelievably fast.

I have read quite a few things on the Internet where people slag it off and say that it is no good. I don't know where these people are coming from but I haven't had any problems with it. As you know, I'm always doing stuff with websites and all different types of programs.

What don't you like about it?

Believe me, I'll be the first person to dis it if it was crap.I use quite a lot of sophisticated programs and I have not run into any problems whatsoever. The only issue I had was some of the software I use either didn't work on Vista, or did not work on 64-bit. However, it was easy to get hold of that was made specifically for 64-bit. The software that came with my trackball mouse which has buttons that you can program does not work on Vista 64-bit. The Kensington start Manufacturing software for Vista because Vista has its ownmouse functions built-in. I rely heavily on being able to space use a drag function. That is built into Vista and you can program your mouse to do it. I actually now prefer my trackball that way it is, rather than the way it used to be using Kensington software.

Vista also has its own speech recognition built in. Haven't used it that much because I've got my own, however it works really well from the time I detest it.

I could go on about Vista and how good it is. Vista is quite different from XP and one has got to be a little bit patient and either spends time looking through the control panel on finding out what things do, or find a tutorial, there are loads out there that will give you a really good lesson in using Vista.

When I compare the way my programs run on my Vista 64-bit system to the way they ran on XP, it is literally the difference between a normal family saloon, and a Porsche, and that is absolutely no exaggeration.

I'm still on 32 bit I think and the reason I dont like vista You can't play world of warcraft and other decent games as good as with xp + office looks bloody gay and is ( imo ) unpractical to use.
all in all, vista's looks are blergh and as I am a fashion victim, that bothers me alot
