Penn suggested that I post this to see if I am the only one having this problem.

When I log into the site, the forum shows me all the threads that have new information. Has that little "1 new" or "200 new" (if I've been gone awhile!) listed next to the thread name. There are times when I will start to read them and then have to leave the site - having not read all the new threads. When I come back, all the threads are marked as read - even though I have not read them.

Anyone else had this issue? Or am I just losing my mind!?

no you are not alone..... though i don't mind it... what puzzle me is that
when i was logged, and have not push any button at all for a few minutes, i was
automatically logged-out...and need to log in again when ever i want to
interact in the site....

It is rather annoying.... I like to know where I left off so I don't have to re-read threads. Hopefully there are others and Penn can figure out the issue. This wasn't happening before, it is only recent within like the last month or so. I can't remember exactly when it started.

Are you sure that you are not looking at the forum when you are not logged in? I have just close the site come back and it still tells me I have numerous unread messages in each forum

That is what I see too... then I come back (sometimes, not all) and all those "new" indicators in green are gone. Oh well, probably just me.
