When I turned my PC on in my bedroom it makes an absolutely horrible racket and then stops after a couple of minutes. I've also had a problem with a blue screen coming up in the last couple of days. I always close the PCs down properly so I'm not sure why this is happening. I have taken the side case of panic seems that it is the rear fan that is the culprit. Any ideas or suggestions? I think I've got about one week of the warranty left so hopefully I can get it sorted without any cost to myself

I wouldn't worry about the fan to much mate..only fan that is really important is your Intel internal fan as this cools your processor...try a disk clean up and click all the boxes it offers you ...then run a virus scan....blue screen of death could just be a driver issue

fans are pretty easy to replace, plenty of google sites that help with installation, and ebay is a good source for cheap ones. My fan on my mac laptop does some loud shit, so we took it apart and found it was hitting a wire, and it has since then been less loud.
if u get a blue screen on startup, it could mean that you have improperly installed programs. Do a system restore or start up repair. Clean the registry, run anti-virus checks, etc...

it sounds like something is hitting the rotor of the fan, allthough that's odd for it stops after a few minutes.
I guess you could try to vaccuum the ventilator very carefully and see if it helps.
On my encounters with BSOD i allways googled the code that came up on the error screen.
Usually it was some updated service pack i was missing.

I have send a message containing the video link to the computer company, they can either arrange to collect the PC and fix it, or send me a new fan.

If it's still under warranty, I would let them fix it. If it's not, fans are a cheap easy fix. I have 3 fans on my home computer, 1 on the power supply, 1 on the processor and 1 in the front of the case. As far as the blue screen goes, probably just needs to be updated and cleaned real good (scan disc, defrag, virus scan, malware and spyware scan). It's not a bad idea to open the case periodically and just blow it out with some air. You would not believe all of the dust and dead skin flakes you would find on the inside of a pc. Don't go crazy but just get the big stuff off of the fans and other internal parts. This will make your fans run easier.
