hi all just a little help i have a pregnant cichlid which i have put into a tank on her own i no once she has let them go only to keep her with them for 4 days just so she gets her strengh but while she is holding them do i feed her im thinking not but im really not sure thanks

you can try some crushed flakes, but chances are she wont eat...

im slightly concerned as she is very little to be a mum but will just hope she is ok

Well there isn't much you could do..

If you google "Stripping an African Cichlid"
You can watch it on Youtube.
It will show you how to make her release the babies now...
But I wouldn't do it unless you know the babies are hatched and of a decent size...
It can also be VERY stressful to her...

I wouldn't do it unless she is in distress...

she dosen`t seem to bad so will just keep an eye on her closely and keep her water healthy and hope for the best

It is pretty hard to strip Small African cichlids, mainly because they are very tough to hold securely. I have tried once with mine...and I figured I was more likley to kill her than letting her go without food. If she was in decent shape she will do fine without food. I would only try to strip the fry if you were pretty sure she would die anyway.none of mine have eaten while holding.do you know what type she is? good luck.

so 9.45am she let 5 babies go so mush 4 another2 weeks
