I'm trying to breed my cichlids. I have:
1 Kenyi
2 Convicts
3 Orange Zebras
1 Electric Yellow
2 Bumblebees

Don't really know their sex's. Got any way of sexing them.

Any way of increasing their breeding?

just cause they are all cichlids doesn't mean they will breed, if you really want to get I to breeding you need to get a group of 6-10 of the same species and wait to see if males and females present themselfs then seperate out the extra males and you will have a breeding group

Males typically have a sharper point on the dorsal fin. Males will also have clear halos around the egg spots on the caudal fin. Be careful what you wish for ...the Mbunas can breed like crazy so have a plan for the fry. If you plan to sell or give fry away you should only breed one variety at a time. Hybrids between varieties will often be silver or brown color and should not be sold or bred, I feed mine to my Frontosa. The convicts are SA cichlids and really should not be with the Africans as they have very different water parameters.

around the yellow spots there will be an area of no pigment, somtimes it looks like a dark ring around the spots. this pic should help.

www.malawimayhem.com/articles_venting.shtml

this is the best article iv ever found about venting and has helped many people iv reccomended it to.
its about venting, which is the near-certain way to tell if a fish is male or female. it will work with all the fish, i think the cons too.

but i dont think there will be peace in the tank for long. cons are american and get extremely territorial when they spawn, so they will kill off all the africans for the sake of their babies.

when they spawn, the africans like a flat surface like bare bottom tank or a long flat stone, but will be ok with sand. the female will have a big chin and wont eat for 3 weeks, then will spit the babies. i strip my females so i keep the babies, but thats a decision up to you.

i hope this helped xx
