What do you guys do to battle it? Currently it has engulfed all my cichlid stones and decorations in the tank aswell as parts of the glass, my lights arent kept on that long so I dont understand why its blooming so much.

should i just take everything out once a week when i do a water change and clean it or what?

Is this a newly set up tank? Its brown diatom algea and is very tolerant of low light. Many will have issues with this in newly setup tanks and it takes a few months for it to go away. Just ave to keep cleaning it off.

Yeah that doesnt matter. It has to do with phos levels and silicates if there are silicate sources such as sand. All you can do is wait it out...it will gradually decrease.
