That's kind of the direction we're leaning, maybe some damsels as well, the misses wants an anemone but that would require a lighting upgrade so we'll see.

@ Jnet, sea horses are nice but they are hard to feed and many just waste away and die.

@ Matt you can always go for a few green chrmois. Its going to annoy you and your going to upgrade asap hahaha

Haku, I knew your were good.

I've been trying to research some species that will get along and not get huge, so far I'm thinking chocolate chip starfish, 1-2 clowns and damsels, and an emerald crab.

I love starfish and the shrimps and things so cool. :)

I didnt know seahorses were a problem Micheal use to have them breed all the time but not many made it to adulthood. He lost his whole tank 2years ago after soap got into it and hes been working it back up to its glory.

this is his tank

You will need a lot more Live Rock in your tank my friend, but I would recommend a goby/pistol pair (fascinating to watch them build a home together and protect each other) Green Chromis need at least a 40 gal tank IMO and are a schooling fish anyway so wouldn’t bother with them if I were you, unless you plan a large upgrade in the near future. How about a pompom crab? Funny little things, don’t see them often but it’s nice when they do appear from time to time. You could possibly keep a purple dottyback in that tank but they like a lot of hiding spaces, which a small tank may not be able to provide sufficiently. To be honest, with a 20gal tank, you are very limited to what you can keep in it. If you dislike the room freshwater fish take up, you won’t be best pleased with marine tanks haha.

Also, a filter is not necessary as your LR will do that, but you will need a skimmer for sure and a clean-up crew consisting of hermit's, turbo snails, cleaner shrimps and a few bumble bee snails as well to do the dirty work under the sand :) get yourself testing kits as per all tanks, along with coral buffers and ideally an RO unit.

Good luck with it; it’s a great hobby but expensive and time consuming

Yea I've got some in there, a blue damsel and a clown, oddly enough it didn't really go through that big of a cycle, ammonia spiked for a few days, skipped nitrites and went right to nitrates.

I just put the little guys in there this weekend, so it was stabilized for a while prior. Will post some pics once I get the water changed and stuffs
