Yeah I'm not going to get another until I have an ideal situation for him. Just amazes me how the pleco I had as a little kid survived so long. He lived in a little under maintained tank and for years through waves of goldfish.

Sorry to hear about the pleco. I'm not sure if it helps but I didn't know those things were death traps. I can see why that would be the case but I never thought about it. At least it's gone now.

It was a very cool looking deco but obviously hazardous. When I was looking at a bunch of other ones today I noticed they are almost all built the same way with an opening or a few that fish could get trapped or stuck in. Lesson learned. Plants solid deco or rocks is the way to go.

Yeah daddadoo I worked at a lumber yard home supply place for years. They have way better stones and rocks for sure.

Sorry Bri, I feel really bad I advised you not to break it apart. I had a fish that disappeared off and on into something similar, first time I took it out looked and did not see it, then the next day the fish was there again. After that I did not worry, but eventually got tired of the vanishing act and removed it. How long did you have the pleco?

No worries rob I technically had him 3 days but he went missing after about 12 hours. I was off today and curiosity was killing me so I broke it apart in a bucket with some tank water in case he fell out. He was jammed in the tightest spot he could fit in.
