There are no other white spots on him...that pic is deceiving. Bubbles. The other fin has 3 just like that one. Again...no other spots anywhere on body, just fin.

My oscar had a similar white spots on his right fin that would come and go. I was told they were cysts and posed no threat. They did slowly go away. This looks like it could be the same thing.

Your oscar has the beginning stages of HITH. Notice the necrosis around the nostrils. This is usually caused by too few water changes. How often do you change the water and how much each time? I don't mean to alarm you. HITH is very serious but can be stopped and likely healed at this stage.

yes ... the picture is deceiving... if they are cyst, the will fall down in 10 days and will die due to warm water... however, the right nostril show something, better keep an eye with water params to avoid it getting larger.

nice fish btw...

Spots are getting worse. LFS gave me SULFAPLEX by Seachem and said it would absolutely work. Have added 2 doses over last 4 days...no change. What do you think? There are no other spots on him anywhere, and he is eating and swimming fine. Chemistry is great. Thinking now it may be early stages of finrot.

I've added the images to the forum so they can be seen by everyone.

What test kit are you using to measure water parameters? How often do you change the water and how much each time. Many times these issues are caused by water quality, and the amount that needs to be changed to keep an oscar healthy is more than many people are willing to believe. In a 75 gallon tank, I have to change 50% twice a week to keep nitrates under control. What are your parameters for pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate?

If it's bacterial, the salt should have helped. I would first do a large water change and gravel vac. Then, if the sulfaplex isn't helping, try an antifungal like API Fungus Cure. But nothing will provide much if any relief if large water changes are not carried out often.
