Vinny created the topic: Over fed

So I get home and for the 2nd time in a few months my wife jacked it all up. Like a 2 week supply of pellets floating on top of the water and both filter intakes clogged. I cleaned the I takes with the filters on Yeah I know bad call should of been off I know some went into the filter not thinking a extreme amount. Then I did about a 60% water change with a very good vacuum of the bottom. Then I serviced the fluval 306 filter and left the fx6 as is.. Is this enough or should I plan on doing the fx6 in a couple days???

Wouldnt hurt to look in the FX. If the 306 was drawing in some of the food, the FX with much more power was very likely pulling more.

When reading the tests, make sure it is against (touching) a white background.

If the nitrate is orange while against a white background, then it is still good. Once it gets to orange with a mroe red tint, time to do at least a 50% water change. I cant tell the difference betwen the 10 or 20ppm on the sheet either.

Is your nitrate out of the tap 0ppm?
