I have an Oscar and sailfin pleco sharing a tank. They get along pretty well but wanted to add some cover for the pleco to hide under. I got some rocks from the local fish store and as soon as I put them in my Oscar turned white and started attacking them. He's been at it for about half an hour now. Is this normal? He's never even attacked the pleco so why so much hate for the rocks?

Its a bit odd but not totally weird. You have changed his surroundings and he dont like it. Careful he doesnt injure himself. Just curious.. Oscar and Sailfin plec, 2 fish with very large size potential. What size tank are they in? Cramped quarters will also upset Oscar, and the rocks may be taking up valuable real estate.

oscars normally react to anything new to their eyes...
a lot of attacking and pushing will be done until it becomes settled
