Cody2 created the topic: Loss of scales

My Oscar is missing several scales along it's sides, fins, and back. I cant see any other signs of illness, it is active and eating well still. His tank mates are a plecko and a snail. They both do not appear to have any issues. He is 4 inches and was in a 55 gallon tank. As I was transferring them to a 100 gallon tank I noticed the missing scales. The nitrates are almost at 0, the water is slightly hard, the alkalinity is at 180, and the ph levels are slightly high. We completed a total tank change two weeks ago after the completion of treatment for ICK. Could the missing scales be a leftover side effect of the ICK?

if you have an issue about ICK previouly, yes, it is possible
if it is still active and eating well in the new tank... then there is
a big chance for it to recover very soon.
