have two oscars in a 55 gal tank they are approx.9 to 10 in.have had them for about 2 months and they have been pretty happy until the last couple days .now are being kinda sluggish all of a sudden.laying on bottom upright alot . not their normal routine have noticed a little fraying on edges of fins .and they seem to be rubbing their sides on bottom of tank.could this be starting of fin rot .or somthing else.was told they were a mated pair they have spent alot of time making holes and rearanging tank.could this be time for babies ?not sure whats going on just kinda concerned.

If you dont have a liquid water testing kit, then do a 50% water change today and another 50% tomorrow. There is something wrong with the water. Then purchase an API freshwater master test kit so that you can conduct water tests yourself.

2 oscar x 9 -10ish size... tank overload... any info about the filtration system?
agree with Rocksor, water change while waiting for the testing kit...
frayed fins is a sign of bad water... although healthy fish may also shows white edges at the fins,,
sign of growing ... can you post any pictures...
