Could be any number of reasons. Temperament, sometimes Oscars mood can have an effect on their colour. It's probably got more to do with the environment he's in now. Is your substrate a different colour? How about the background of the aquarium, is it completely different to where he was?

If in doubt just checked the water conditions, i.e. ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH. I know that that is quite monotonous asking that question, but it's always a good idea to know that your Oscar is safe in the aquarium. Sometimes fish can change colours due to illness.

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

Everything in the water is great. 60% water change weekly. 1 canister filter and 1 HOB. It might be the background and the temperate. thank you. Gonna fix the temperate but the background is bare. Think that needs to be changed?

Oscars change color and pattern over time as they mature. Even daily they can show different tones. Quite normal throughout the cichlid world. I wouldnt be concerned over making changes until the fish settles in, begins to grow. One thing that baby cichlids need is some cover to get behind. Couple rocks, hunk of driftwood, some plants, anything to make them feel secure.
