for what we are creating this for as a standard feeding chart for oscars especially for the beginner keeper yes I think you have done an amazing job!!

I disagree with Rock if you goal is to help people getting into the hobby and just have a standard we need to have a pellet they can go to the store and buy period.. yes we can suggest the making of their own food and add it but more likely to drive newer people away than bring them in

I think finding the optimum feeding like me or you are talking about if 100's of oscars and years of trying so we need to get to work lol :P

Ik what im asking is more complex I just trust your opinion and was throwing it out there to see what you though about it

You still can't pick NLS as the number 1 pellet. It's not available everywhere. But, people around the world can make their own pellet.

The only thing you can do is have recommendations on what to look for in terms of ingredients.

thats fine by me but what are we thinking then if you say ever single one is bad ?

hikari, tetra, NLS all deemed bad by you and I feel they are the main brands ... I mean Azoo next one to look at?

we need to pick less of the evils then... and NLS is pretty popular and very shippable

I prefer not to use those brands that have ethoxyquin (Hikari uses MSG, which is a lesser evil than ethoxyquin considering it is in a lot of process food we eat and deemed by the FDA as a flavor enhancer), but if I had no choice, then I would.

I think if we just throw up some brands of pellets commonly used and seen as generally safe we'll be ok because there is not a perfect commercially produced pellet out there. Along with some guidelines for what to look for in off-brand pellets.

I choose Aqueon and Hikari bio-gold (and will start using Xtreme Aquatic) right now because I'm a lazy arse bastard that doesn't want to get dirty using a meat grinder.
