Usman9600 created the topic: Hikari good or not?

I have been feeding my oscar optimum pellet food which is quite cheap 2$ for 100 grams
My oscars growth has been considerably slow and he has grown 1 inch in 3 months hardly
I am thinking about getting cichlid gold or tropical sticks
Which one is better?

Yes get a better food. Never heard of optimum. Can you post a link to it so we can see what it is. Good food and lots of big water changes are what is needed for healthy oscars. Probably both of these are affecting its growth. Lack of doing lots of large water changes is the most common reason for failure with oscars and other large cichlids.

Go do a water change - the solution to pollution is dilution.

If the water conditions are not good due to lack of water changes, then the growth will be lacking. That food that you are giving him is enough to show growth every month if this oscar is less than 1 year old.
