Lutino oscars are more sensitive to bright light.

My adult male Lutino does not see as well as his Tiger mate. I feed with lights off or dim at best. He gets his full share that way. They see just fine with minimal light.

My lutino has this problem too! I almost always have to guide him to his pellets with my fingers if he misses me when I drop em in. Especially if they end up toward the back of the tank where the light is brighter.

So maybe you can get him trained to follow your hand to food op, just be careful he doesn't start nipping at your fingers instead of food. Often happens to me if I'm not quick enough in feeding/removing my fingers :p

hi there

1. yes, the lutino does have some bad eye sight when it matures.
2. I had two lutinos in the past in which one was literally "blind" when it hit 2 years old.
