It has nothing to do with speed. Oscars can stalk fish at night too. Eventually schooling fish need to sleep.

yeah they sleep, but they also stalk at night when they know food is close by

That is a sweet Bichir SD, but it is a predator, and eventually given the circumstances in a closed environment it will be successful. If it can fit in its mouth it will eat it, and even if it won't fit in it's mouth it will probably try.

Thanks! Big? Not really. The endi, ornate and the bigger senegal is housed with the two oscars at a 75gal tank and the rest is in a grow-out tank. They'll be all moving to a 160gal, I am just still pooling for the funds. :lol:

I don't know how you would consider a fish' color as two toned but here's his picture when he was smaller.


All of their pictures are taken using a phone cam with varying light sources.
