if they're big enough, and there's hiding space for it, I'm sure it will be ok. Some people have them with oscars, I just can't name one now to point you in that direction.
But there are stories of them becoming spagetti.

If you're sexing senegals look for the anal fin, it's the one under the tail fin . If its thick like a big carving knife it's a male. If its smaller and like a pocket knife blade it's a female. Males anal fins will also curl like a spoon when they are feeling frisky. Both male and female senegals have same amounts of dorsal spine find. B)

I'm pretty sure it's the same for most bickers but I know that's for sure with sens.

Very cool looking fish, what happened to the butti?
Did I miss something?

If you don't check in with SD weekly you will miss a new fish .. .

He did not like the nic in the top of the butti dorsal fin (it was healing back just a little dip tho) so he kept complaining then sold it for dirt cheep and bought the bichir for 35 bucks I think.. also I do not think he liked the size of the butti if I remember also ...

He thinks its face and bones makes it smart when it is actually one of the most primitive fish keep in the hobby..

but hey cool looking fish !

Thanks eddie, and yah I do think the bichirs look smart, so idk if that was sarcasm on ur part? Just because theyre primitive makes them not smart? I think they must be pretty smart for them to be around after all these years. And I don't think the top fin was healing eddie, I think I was trying to force myself into believing that. The reason I got rid of the butti was he was extremely boring maybe moved 3 hours the whole days but usually sat in the corner dark grey, idk maybe my tank wasn't big enough for him? And I don't buy a new fish every week...more like every 2 weeks ;)

Thanks roxy! And it was a 95 dollar lesson learned the hard way not to buy fish that I haven't examined first, and shipping sucks :/ lol

SD,

For bichirs not to have evolved that much has NOTHING to with the intelligence of the species. I suggest you read up on Darwin and his theories.

Also, your current signature banner makes it difficult to read everything you post. It exceeds the limits of the frames of the web browser.
