Big-Ken created the topic: quick angelfish update

I'm sitting down in my man cave/fish room looking at my fish and though I would do a quick picture update of what's going on

Angel babies at a month and a half, was only able to save 7 from my first batch but they are growing good and starting to get there orange color. There body is only about the size of your nail on your index finger

The new wigglers, they should go free swimming on Saturday. All the piles that look like poop are wigglers, if you look close in the second pic you can see all the black little eyes

Some teaser pics for Eddie :p I swapped the males out, hopefully she accepts him. The second pic is with the flash on and you can really see his green glitter

Those little ones have grown really well :)

The green on that last angelfish steals the show. Wow.

Now that is a fish big ken!!! I love the grim reaper!!! that thing looks awesome ...

If I ever go the angel fish route that will be the fish I need !!!! ( well his babies that is ;) )

What tank size do the need and can they live by themselves ? just wondering if I could get a small room tank with one in it ...

I love that fish look are they ever that dark black with purple or blues ? ik they have lots of colors now because you said it!

Eddie, I don't know many specifics, but I do know they need depth - a hexagon tank works surprisingly well for them, because they're often so much deeper. For me, it's always been just one angel and that's that - the other one got bullied. I guess it's like oscars, one, a pair, or more than 5 to spread aggression. Other combos don't work so well.

Imagine a nice deep tank with valisneria all along the water surface, and an angel, a black one with hints of green, making its way through it... So lovely! Just too bad the neons (because there should be neons, really :P ) will get eaten.

Thats exactly what I want!!!

I want just one in there with long vals to the top of water!!! perfect !!! and some carpet plants ... and I would love to have neons in there!!! they can stay for a while at least

but small enough to be up stairs that would be epic !

I might do that esp when ken gets his stuff together

I really wouldn't go any smaller than a 29H for a pair; I kept my breeding pair of Silvers in there, & grew out babies in a 55. Daily WC's all around, of course. Big Angels will take small mealworms w/ gusto, BTW, & this is how I conditioned mine to breed(REAL small MW's, though, 'bout the size of a pinky nail, most good pet shops that carry herps have them) ;)

I REALLY want to get some DD Blacks from AngelsPlus, but really can't get into breeding w/ wanting to move & all......someday, though, I will.

Your Angels are great looking, Ken, but school me.....why are you crossing the Koi w/ the Veiltail(& what kind of Angel is that again?); what do you think you will get genetics-wise out of this pairing?? I'm real curious to see the results, if it happens....

THOSE WHO REFUSE KNOWLEDGE ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.
