Can I keep one of these with an Oscar in a 75 gallon for life if not how big of a tank do these fish require? The scientific name is xenentodon cancilla.

hello..that fish can grow to 40cm and she needs a lots of swimming space..
that is a beautiful fish and its the best to kept them in shoal(3 or more)..

I had one of these and it was eating well and very happy but it just died on me and Im not sure why. But I think they like to be in groups.

I think Noddy said they were not technically gars but lets find out my old thread :) I may be some time but it would be nice to see old pics again. :)

Yea, one of the shops around here gets them in from time to time, but I've only ever seen one in the tank so I assumed they were solitary, learn something new everyday :D

Nice,why i was looking for a false Gar, was i wanted a topdwelling fish in the higher levels.
Not i got a real Gar, and he mostly sleeps on the ground.. :whistle:
