It's a little hard to tell what this cory is eating. He/she only searches the bottom for food.
He also shows no interest in algae wafers. What I've been doing is crushing a few wafers
into a powder and letting it sink on the surface of the gravel. I also crush some flakes
into powder and let that sink for the fry to eat. He may eating the think film on the inside
of the aquarium, because he usually swims against the glass.

Do you think a cory can feed this way?

I'll shoot a video in the next couple days. The balloon molly is still bullying my fish, including the new neon blue gourami

Well he was still bothering the other ones so I had no choice.
(moderated: wordings not suitable for young members and surfers)
His name was Fallon
short for 'fallen one'. And I will never kill another fish.

Ok everyone lets keep the discussion civil the reality is that severing the spinal column is a known and accepted method of euthanizing a fish, albeit imo barbaric.

JonJon- I dont quite understand why you felt the need to tell everyone and defend yourself the way you did but if you are indeed a troll its best that you go ahead and delete your account and leave we dont have much patients for trolls here. If your not please try and keep others feelings in mind since this is a community, we all understand the need to euthanize a fish in special situations but we dont need to post explicit details of how it went down.

Im keeping an eye on this thread lets all be adults, I will lock this down the second I see it turning into a bash fest

I shared it on here because I wanted to know if people felt what I did was wrong.
I see how peaceful and active my tank is now and I don't regret doing it. I'm an
avid fishermen too, and I've cut the heads off plenty of fish, mostly cichlids (sunfish)
we use for bait, so I know its a very painless procedure. It's a little different, though,
when you're doing it to your pet fish. Please understand this is not an urge I had.
I tried everything. I separated him for awhile. I bought four new plants. Finally when
I bought a fish three times his size and he attacked it, I knew I had to get rid of him.
The hard decision was whether to return him. Ultimately I decided not to make
my problem someone elses problem, just to make myself feel better. Of course I
would've given him his own personal home if I had one, that's a no brainer. I guess
no one cares about the two fish that will never move from their hiding spot behind
the heater because of the constant bullying. If I just introduced him I would've
returned him, but I'd had him for several weeks so I felt like he was my responsibility.
I support all your feedback, but I don't have anything else to say on the matter.
