Here's how I did a search Santa Tecla Texas Cichlid, and I got quite a few hits

I just want to make sure we are not making assumptions here, "Laguna de Santa Tecla" refers to the collection locality inside the valley of Cuatro Ciénegas, where this fish come from (Great it is mentioned with the fish name). Not that this form is any different (or different enough) from H. cyanogutattus from Rio Salado, to which in fact in our days Laguna de Santa Tecla is connected to by a channel. It was even feared that H. cyanoguttatus had actually colonized this lagoon from Rio Salado, apparently not the case though as there are historic collections and it is also found in more isolated springs north of Laguna de Santa Tecla and adjacent in distribution. A relic population of H. cyanoguttatus from which H. minckleyi evolved from. There are at least two geographical forms if H. cyanoguttatus, one in Rio San Fernando and Rio San Juan (part of the Rio Grande drainage) and one in Rio Grande, Salado and Texas affluents of Rio Grande. This is the Rio Salado form.

Temperment has been fine. I had 6-pairs breeding together in the same tank at one point. I am down to 2-pairs and a single extra male. I gave the others to breeder.
