I think there are close to 100, and already have the siphon tubes covered. How long do you think I should leave them with the parents?

@Kimmee, I can trade them in at the lfs for half credit towards the purchase of other fish, but I hope to work something out with the owner for some type of credit towards tanks and hardware. If that fails, I will contact some other lfs and see what happens. Last resort is to give them away to any store that will take them.

Well, they did it again, More eggs! The big questions now are should I remove the older 1/4" fry so they don't eat the wigglers, and what do I do with 300+ Carpintis? Sorry Dave, I wish I could send you some.

lol.. thx for thinkin of me Rob, but what indeed are ya gonna do with all those critters? You need a couple of big waste disposal cichlids, or catfish. Your Sals and FM's might like a few.

Welcome to my world. Get a tub and some sponge filters if you want to keep fry. Will and LFS take fry for credit? If not start feeding them to something or you will be buried alive.

Going to order some sponge filters tonight, what is the best place to get them?

My lfs will exchange fish for credit on other fish up to 7 at a time, so this does not really help. The owner is a pretty nice guy, and i might be able to work something out since they regularly stock these fish. He would save shipping, and since I would be more interested in credit than cash, he would only loose margin on whatever i get from him. When the fry get a little bigger I plan on approaching him on the subject. I also plan on visiting some other independent stores in my area.

Here is a short video of the new carpintis wrigglers.

These are the fry from the previous batch, I moved almost all of them into a gal. They where extremely hard to catch, now I know how they survive in the wild.

The fry are now free swimmers. I think this batch is a little larger than the first, it is hard to tell, especially since I think the previous batch got some eggs for lunch. Sorry about the green water, there is a window behind the tank and algea grows like crazy. I have seen the fry grazing on it so I have been hesitant to cover the window, but I am tired of dealing with it so the window gets a blind tomorrow.

That is what I thought and was just hoping to get some fish that would tolerate one another. I did not plan on having breeding pairs in every tank, but it looks like that may be the case.
