Yeah they are pricey. Probably because you only ever need to buy one, no matter how many tanks you have and for how long. If you get the chance to get one used and don't want to pay the price of new, they are worth it.

Go do a water change - the solution to pollution is dilution.

i saw that on some sites and thought it was some price mistakes ~ that is just nuts ....

i would go with what ken mentioned - making a divider with light diffusers and pvc tubes .... do the beast won't chew up your hands

The water was about an inch above his dorsal when he did the original damage to the brush. I think he would still go after it, me, whatever even if he had to swim sideways to do it. He does not retreat during wc no mater how much i take out. I had been using a cheap magnetic device, but he always managed to dislodge it, and then would guard the thing like it was a stack of money. The divider sounds like a good idea, since I really don't want to spend $125 on the problem. I wonder if someone makes plate mail for plecos?
