Hi guys i currently have 2 jack dempsey chichlids on the way i was looking for ideas with stocking? I really like gold severums but I have been told the Jds might be a tad agressive? Thanks in advance guys :)

With already having 2 jack dempseys, I would just add dither fish like a school of at least 10 boesemani rainbow fish.

If i was just to keep 1 jd would that leave room for other chichlids?

It would be a bit easier to plan stocking. If you ended up with a mated pair (like what I think you're going for?) god help any other cichlids in the tank.

One JD would be a bit easier to handle, but even then... Suprd has one male that he keeps alone in a 90 gal I think, because it just won't play nice with any other fish. Mixing any American cichlids is a gamble, but with JDs it's really a coin toss whether you'll get one that plays nice or not.

Vieja heterospilus would be able to hold its own and grows slow like a jd little more mild than args or fens. But not with two jds

Not really. Putting one in now by himself may give him time to claim areas of the tank. You might want to decide what your going to stock with and grow them all together

1 JD and 6 firemouths

Rainbow cichlids and green flier cichlids will also work and around a couple of inches smaller than a firemouth.

1 JD , 1 green texas, 1 nicaraguan cichlid, 1 firemouth
