I can appreciate that these activists are thinking of the lobsters welfare, however did they consider that the lobsters claws may have been clipped beforehand? If the claws had rubber bands around them then the chances are the claws will still work and returning them to the sea after the bands have been removed will probably be okay. However if the lobster is not able to use its claws then it has absolutely no way to feed and will just die a slow and horrible death.
