And didn't mean to say you don't know about water changes, lol.
If it was ich at all, the med usually needs some more time though to erradicate the parasites. Some fish are just more sensitive than others to any not ideal water conditions. If any of mine start rubbing themselves, I get the test kit out as first thing.
Let's hope it will be fine soon now.

Hope the bumble bee gets better. I lost my big guy(who was around 8'' to ick and aggression several years ago. The jewel will probably not breed with the other cichlids, unless they are also jewels or very closely related, but seeing as most of the other east african cichlids are tilapia and buffalo heads i doubt it would.

Was not here for months and only catching up now - I also have Jewel Cichlids and they breed non-stop. Stunning parents and lots of them at once. Make sure you've got space or someone interested when your Jewels start breeding. You cannot for sure tell which one is male or female - have to see who'se laying the eggs. However, Malawi's (or reef fish) hate these chichlids. I kept mine with Malawi's, but the Malawi's will kill it when they get the chance. Malawi's (or reef fish) water is also supposed to be very hard - Jewels don't like that much, although they are very hardened fish (and beautiful). Good luck.
