A total forum for plants?? That would be novel, and of interest to some, but only the "die hard" plant enthusiast would probably visit. Or did you mean a section here for Live Plants? That might be good.
(By the way, I registered "over there", you know what I mean. (Blues Brothers).
Theres been a few posts in here of late that has people reciting a tremendous listing of fish in their Oscar aquariums, almost unbelievably so. Some times I just laugh and move along as opposed to even commenting on it. Hence, my newest "signature" line...

Maybe add a "Livebearer" section here too.
(Guppies, swordtails, mollys, plattys etc etc.)
Lots of people keep these.

When I said a forum for plants, I didn't mean an entire website dedicated to them. On here, we have an Oscar Forum, a tankmates forum and so on. Like I said, that would be really boring for most people. I do think that a section on plants would be good.
Live bearers, consider it done. I have guppies here, can't say I'm an expert on them though. Mine seem to have been pregnant for months.

YES, it wouldn't hurt to have a Live Plant section (forum).
As for Guppies,it depends on what you are doing with them. They normally fall under the rule of 1" of fish for every 1 gallon on water as a best case scenario however, it's normal to easily stretch that to 1-2 fish per gallon of water simply because their body mass is rather small (with little ill effect).
Now as I am setting up a feeder tank, I plan to greatly stretch that and will have initially about 12-16 fish in a 20 gallon aquarium, with a 2:1 ratio of females to males. (males notoriously pester the females sexually, so having 2 females per one male gives the girls some rest.) I will most likely get 4-5 males and 10-12 females of different ages if possible, and I will look for the plainest guppies I can find (common guppies) not fancy tailed varieties. This can easily be handled with a really good filter (am getting a Marineland Emporer Bio Wheel 280) rated for 275 GPH and the water turn over will be tremendous for a 20 gallon aquarium and I will put in plenty of cover and plastic plants (floating as well as rooted type) for babies to hide out. As babies are born, the tank will increase in population and I may at that time have a seperate tank to actually raise the babies up to be feeders as I feed them weekly to the Oscars. I intend to hopefully give live feeders at least once a week as "treats". Honestly, I expect to take a few months to get this established.. I can sometimes take one or several of the more mature guppies and feed them to the Oscars, replacing them with younger fish that were born. Guppies are notorious for continually being pregnant and for having rather large groups of babies, expecially the older and larger the female gets. They key to raising feeders is to have a large group of them who continually have babies so you have a constant supply at various ages. Like I said, I'll post photos as I get this going. personally, I think live feeder fish are an important part of their diet as it would be in the wild and the only downside of feeders in the fear of buying them at pet shops as opposed to raising them cleanly yourself.

I reckon you should do a "breeding guppies" section for the member's article. You certainly sound like you know what you're talking about. I have five guppies and three lemon tetras in my 20 gallon tank, and my red Oscar at the moment. Funnily enough, the nitrate levels aren't rising too quickly. Probably due to the fact that the Oscar isn't eating properly.

I used to breed Gups many years ago. The whole key to do it for feeder fish is to do in "en'mass" and to have alot of parents to start. I figure sooner or later I'll have a baby tank with perhaps 50-100 or more juveniles, which at that size you can keep 50-100 in another 10-20 gallons. Filtration is really the key, high flow good filtration. Maybe I'll set up my 37 again if necessary too. (I know I'm not going to give it away for $15 like I got that other entire set up for!)
I'll start off with the other post I put in the Livebearer section and once sucessful (with photos) I will write something up for an article afterwards. (until then, I'll simply "blog" it in the livebearer section.) Breeding guppies is like boiling a pot of water for tea. If you stand there watching it it seems to take forever but put enough fish in the pot the babies appear to boil over continually.
