Re:A word of warning. 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Guess who has a pangansius(not sure on spelling) shark (i think thats what an Iridescent Shark is), yep me. Went to a shop about 4 years ago and asked what they have that would go with my oscar and told how big he was. They sold me a small pangansius (its the shop that had the fish with the hearts on it in my post in 'cruelty to fish section'. I put it in the tank and my oscar straight away tried to eat it so i put it in my community tank that i had at the time. The Pangansius grew slow as he only had flake to live on. He is now in my general cichlid tank (had it for a year) and he has started to get bigger now he has some proper food. He is now about 7 inches. Bit concerned about what i am gonna do with him long term, will try to rehome him when he gets to a foot long. Fortunately for me there are 2 maidenhead aqautics round her and if anyone has been to one of there stores they have 5x2x2 tanks in them so hopefully they will be able to tank and rehome him

Edit- sorry for the double post

Hey Delboy, how about a pic?

A few days ago, they suggested one of those to me in the shop when I was looking for something to put in my 66 gal. It had been returned by someone (who would have thought) and was like Oscar length, and the mouth injured, from banging into the glass I guess. The anal fin was kinda rotten away as well. Poor guy
Besides I could not keep it due to the size, I seemed to remember they need salt, and more of that the bigger they get, or was that another catfish

If I were a guy, I\'d have probably needed only 30% of the amount of words to say this

Iridescent Catfish is defnitaly a "HIGH FIN PANGASIUS" take my advice and dont get into these i use to have one in my 1000liter tank he eventually got to big for the tank to the point where he couldnt even turn around anymore these fish belong in the wild they r really beutifull but they get to big and and they are very stress full fish the they get frightend very easyly and swim into the sides of the tank and damage themselfs mine was approx 800mm when i had to get rid of it and it ended up in a tank at the durban airport which was more like a huge indoor pond.

id love to have one of thse but to be honest with u they were not made to be taken out of the wild.
