I dont know much about puffers but someone once told me that some can be really aggressive. Are you sure that the puffer isnt attacking yours oscars?
Get yourself a test kit. It will give you an early warning sign that things are going wrong. I wish i had bought a test kit when i starting keeping fish, it would if saved me a lot of heartache and money
