Hey everyone my molly has just given birth to about 10 babies, right now they are in a 2 gal tank, should i separate the mother or keep her in the same tank since i have heard she can still be giving birth for a few days? i dont want her to eat the babies since im trying to raise them to feed my Oscar. I have some dense grass so they can hide in but the mother chases them around a bit. What do you guys think?

well in my opinion i would go to your retailer and buy some sort of breeding trap (the ones that only the mum goes in and the babys drop into your main tank) and then in that case the mum is no danger to the fry , what is in the tank you were talking about just the mum and the babys??????? .
or you could get some floating plants and put that in your atnk then that way the mum cant get the fry as they are in amongst the plants on the surface,

i breed guppies and swords and all i use is breeding grass its a sheet of plastic grass approx 1 inch high that i put on the bottom the fry cruise around out of harms way untill they r big enough to come out also all the food scraps lie on the bottom so they eat heaps down there
