It is right that the colour of an Oscar is of no consequence when breeding them with each other. All of the colours will interbreed. If anybody is having trouble with there oscars then why not remove the eggs and hatch them artificially, that way at least you know whether you have a fertile pair. Females will often spawn together and then just eat the eggs.

If you breed two different color Oscars... what color are the babies?

You will get a mixture of the parents ie some red tigers and some albinos and maybe the odd red.

An update: The two seem to be getting along famously! No breeding activity as yet but they are still young. Tiger follows Houghten everywhere, just like a boy would follow a girl! (quietly we are betting on which is male or female)
