Those are fabulous pictures, I am so excited for you. We have a pair, that we are hoping will do the same thing. Good luck with your fry.

Re:New Eggs 1 Year ago
I had 4 oscars (2 albino, a fire oscar and a tiger oscar) and I just about had enough of them fighting each other because they got along together for several months but when I was about to donate them all to a local fish store I saw this morning that either the tiger or the fire oscar had laid many eggs. I then donated the two albino oscars. The tiger oscar stays over the top of the eggs and the fire oscar swims freely around the tank. Is there anything special I should do or should I just let nature take it's course?

Since this is the first time this has happened, I should just sit back and observe. Normally both the Oscars will swim around in a circle over the eggs oxygenating them with their pectoral fins. What colour are the eggs at the moment? If the eggs stay white, they are not fertilised. If they turn a light brown, they are fertilised.

You say you've got four Oscars? How big is your tank? Having a breeding pair of Oscars in a small town with two others present could cause problems. However, you may not have a pair, just a female who has decided to lay eggs.

In the future when you want to ask a question, I would advise you to start your own thread. It makes it less complicated when we are answering your questions on somebody else's post.

Here you go, 27 Days old. I've been trying to get him to eat some other stuff, but he is just not interested in it. He still eats tons of live baby shrimp, and now he is eating the sub adult brine. He is still too small for the adult brine, but my stocks of adults are getting larger so shen he is ready to eat it, I'll have it. What I've been doing, is I have 3 batches of brine going all the time, so at each feeding, he only gets the freshed hatched brine. Then the leftover brine goes into a grow out tank where I feed and let them grow. In the grow out tank, I already have adult brine breeding on their own. Right now, most of it will go to waste with only one little fry, but if I do get a large batch of oscars to hatch, I will be well prepaired for feeding them. His tank is still getting 3 water changes a day. Since I do have to over feed the tank so that he can get enough to eat, I make sure to get everything out at about an hour after feeding.

My adult pair is active at their courting game, so maybe in the next coming days I will have another batch of eggs.
