Re:New Eggs 1 Year ago
Well, I have been at my computer all day working on raising donations for a fundraiser I will be involved in this weekend, and glanced over at my Oscar tank, and sure enough another bactch of eggs. I walked over to see how many, and both of them became very agressive twords me. They were attacking the glass like they wanted to get through it to bite me. Maybe this time they are serious about raising their eggs. I really hope they will give me a nice set of babies this time.

Nemo is still doing well. I tried him on some adult brine again today, and he picked at them, but never did eat any, so he is still on baby and sub adult brine.

Here is a pic of this new batch of eggs. Not as easy to tell that they are tan, but they are. This time they decided to lay their eggs on a different stone.

The male seems to be very aggressive right now. He is tending to the eggs almost all on his own. The female tries to help, but the male doesn't seem to be letting her. Maybe he knows she's not ready to be a parent.

wow. this whole ordeal just amazes me! I love seeing all the pics that you post, and i hope you continue to do it step by step. It seems like they are a good breeding pair! By the way, what are the parents name??? also, do you know if they will constantly breed every 10-14 days, or is there "seasons"?

I will do my best to keep up the picture updates. It is my understanding that once they start to breed, the will continue as long as the conditions stay good. Mine seem to be on a 2-3 week cycle. Since they seem to be on a nice cycle, I am giving them another chance at raising the eggs on their own. I'm all set up and ready to go if I need to remove the eggs, but it would be easier if they can take care of them on their own. So far they still have this last batch of eggs.

Re:New Eggs 1 Year ago
Well, I woke up this morning, and the parents were eating the eggs. I quickly removed the stone and moved it to my hatchout tank I had ready and waiting. I had a charity even to go to today, and was gone all day. Came home tonight, and I quite a few wigglers on the bottom of the tank. Here is a pic, sorry not one of my best, but it is late, and I'm really tired. I counted about 30 or so. Every white ball on the bottom is an active wiggler.
