I noticed my two tigers behaving in (i hope) a breeding way. They started digging and spitting sand around and scraping the slate in my tank. They also, for the first time, started attacking my hands as i vacuumed the tank. Any ideas on this would be appreciated

How old are your fish? As a rule of thumb, Oscars normally become sexually mature from about one year onwards. From my experience, they start laying eggs at around 14 or 15 months old. By this time, they are anywhere between eight and 10 inches long. The behaviour that you describe certainly resembles the sort of behaviour that a breeding pair would carry out but having said that, I have noticed this type of behaviour many months before eggs ever came along so I shouldn't hold your breath for too long just at the moment

The tigers are about 11-13 months old i figure. I've had them for 1o month now the smallest is about 6.5 in and the larger is maybe 8 in long.
they have done the digging and spitting thig before but this is the first time they actualy tried to biite me.

Assuming that you have measured correctly, that is quite small for Oscars of that age. I would expect them to be at least eight or 9 inches, even more. Oscars certainly get very protective and territorial when they breed and will try and defend off anything that threatens their brood/eggs, including someone's hand. However, whether they will lay eggs is something you'll just have to wait and see

Waiting is always the fun part (NOT)lol
Often new parents will spawn eggs, protect them but if they feel threatened they will often eat the eggs.
Fertilized eggs are biege colour and unfertilized are a white colour.
Its quite common for two females to do the mating process but obviously the eggs remain unfertilized and rot away it not eaten or burried.
