I have a 210 gallon tank. In the tank is 1 albino oscar, 4 Bala sharks, 1 lemon cichlid, 1 "purple striped" cichlid, 1 Parrot cichlid, 1 5" pleco, 4 cory cats, 2 Eclipse cats, & mollies.

Roscoe, the oscar, was bought to bring the molly population under control. It's only 3" to 4" now, & is a happy little fish. I know that as Roscoe grows the mollies will have to leave, or be a part of his self-serve sushi bar. Once I take the mollies out of the tank & get them into my other tanks, can Roscoe stay with the other inhabitants peacefully? The only other fish I'm concerned about is "Baby" the Parrot. It's a small one, right now. If needed, I can move it to another tank.

unfortunately nobody had a crystal ball on here so they can't foretell what is going to happen in your tank. The best thing you can do is keep an eye on the Oscar as it grows, it may well live in harmony with all the fish, it may well have aggression problems, you'll just have to address that if and when it happens.

Oscars generally are peaceful fish, they dont hold a grudge but some can be down right mean. Parrot are about the same. Its the lemon and purple cichlids that could be the problem, i have no experience of them. I would suggest keeping a very close eye on the tank and it any fish gets bullied then rehouse either the bully or the bullied. remember if it will fit in a fishes mouth they will try to eat it

It's been 3 weeks now. We have a 2nd Oscar, the same size as the original in the tank too. All inhabitants appear to be doing well. "Baby" the Parrot, is doing fine, as well as the lemon & the purple cichlids. The sharks are being ignored by everyone. The Oscars are being fed small mollies to supplement the flake & pellet food. The mollies are from my tanks, so I know they are healthy.

When we first put 'Boscoe' in the tank with 'Roscoe', we had some "testing of the waters" but they got their differences worked out, & now swim together. They also hunt together, and slide next to each other before parting.

I will keep a close eye on the behavior of everyone, to make sure there is no bullying of anyone. If there is, I have a 55 gallon & a 50 gallon tank that the fish being picked on can go to.

Karen ~ I think its hit, miss & luck, lol. I have quite a mixture going on in my tank and some would not believe that I don't have any problems with aggressions. I have oscars, dempsys, salvini, firemouths, parrot, kissing fish, smakeskin
gourami, red devil, green terror, clown loach, rope fish, frogs
and... I just adopted 2 irridescent sharks which I'm not sure I want to keep although they are doing a good job stirring up the bottom so stuff gets filtered better.

Anyways, mostly everybody grew up together and other then the occasional playing tag no one picks on each other. The other day I was looking at a really nice albino oscar in the store
and the minute I put my finger near the top of the tank he jumped up and hit the glass and he kept doing it. I would not buy that fish because I would think he would upset my family.

I think you should do fine but anything can change and that goes for me to. But I keep crossing my fingers.

What appears to be strange is that the Oscars don't seem to see the mollies in the tank as a food source. Well, other than newborns that the Eclipse cat doesn't get. The only time they will eat them, at this stage, is when a fish is fed to them by my husband. I know there are juveniles in there that are smaller than what they are fed, because I've seen them.

My husband is holding out hope that they will all get along! I'm not holding my breath.
