you will have to give us more information on your tank set up. Two Oscars will require an absolute minimum of 100 gallons UK. Please also tell us what filtration system you are using, as well as how big the Oscars.

Changing 100% of the water is not something I would recommend. You shouldn't have to do more than a 30% water change every week. If your nitrate levels are soaring at the end of the week, your tank is either too small, or you have too many fish, or you are feeding far too much.

More information please. Also tell us how you change the water, did you use a water conditioner to remove the chlorine and other horrible stuff that is contained in tap water?

I dont think there is a limit on what percentage of water you can change. However i wouldnt advise doing more than 50%. The important thing is that the fresh water going in is comparable to the water already in the tank. The Ph should be the same or very similar, it should be the same temperature and you should use a de-chlorinator to neutralise any chlorine.

Well i have a 55 gallon tank but the ocars are only about 4- 5 inches. I have the penguin 350 bio wheel filter, Im only feeding pellets at the time i think Im going to raise them on pellets for now anyway.also have two festivums that arent big at all, I had all four fish since I started my tank so they havent killed them , but I once tried adding two silvercatfish and one was killed with 6 hours. So I wont be adding anymore tank mates lol.
