My snake has good taste... 1 Year, 5 Months ago
Yesterday, while feeding my two foot rad-line snake, I stupidly dangeled a live leopard frog in front of her. She lurched foward, but changed her course and bit me on the finger. The frog lept away. The snake pulled my hand backwards(man, that snake is STRONG!!!), and finally let go, cutting through my skin like a razorblade. Four long bloody scars were left on my finger, resulting in the snake's teeth dragging through me. I immediatly applied anti-bactine lotions, to kill the bacteria(she has bacteria growing in her saliva that is quite painful when is gets in your bloodstream). When I came back to check on her, she had found the frog, killed it, eaten it, and now knows(hopefully) the difference between food and friend Just thought I'd share. Good thing she hasn't found the oscar tank!

If that was a rattlesnake...I wouldn't be posting on here for a LONG time. My finger is hard to move though, quite painful, but it's starting to heal

One of my uncles had a copperhead...that tank was locked shut! He also had a coachwhip snake that escaped. His wife found it when it stuck it's head out of a compartment in the kitchen! Her scream could be heard world-wide.

SNAKES Yikes. Think i will keep to fish and relatively harmless ones at that. An 8inch oscar can draw a little blood with his mouth but he dont cut like a razor blade

Hehe. If your snake is anything like my cat, oscar or goldfish....FAT PIGS, they will never learn the difference between man and food. They know man equals food, but where the food ends and the man begins they don't care!!! haha My oscar is still only small, I was feeding him his favourite wood worms. I had my hand near the water dropping them in, but he managed to latch onto my finger, and thrash about in the water until he drew blood and got the worm off me. I think he must have thought I was taking it back??? Silly fish. It was very funny though. To watch this fish hanging onto my finger thrashing about. Oh, and I've given up on making the tank look good. Oscar wants no bar of it and continuously distroys everything.......grrrrr.

You are lucky - my one ossie (Tiggy) is only aggressive when I clean out the tank - so much so that it became a cat-and-mouse exercise every week. I don't stan still for him/her to get hold of me - oh no! He got hold of me once (thought if I ignore him he'd go away) and my hand took quite a while to heal. It is like a grater - hundreds of fine cuttings with blood syphering through. The other day he only bumped me away (amazing how strong they are) and some of that razer thing got hold of me again. Nope, I'm feeding him with a wooden spoon now, and retrieve the spoon when he wins the game and get the spoon out of my hand - I still love them to bits though
