i have a 20 gallon tank and a blue dragon goby and a pleco and i was wondering if i should get plants for them. anyone help me out please, it would be much apprecciated(idn the spelling).

what kind of pleco have you got? Many of them get extremely large so your tank will be far too small. Regarding plants, I don't see why you shouldn't get any plants, you've got no Oscars to destroy them, the other fish should leave them alone, in fact pleco's clean plants. But like I said, your tank size could be an issue
