Hey you.. Well it could mean that his/her diet is to rich. Feeding your oscar live food (feeder fish) all the time isn't really good for him/her. Its to rich for them and it causes them to form holes on their head. Its basically the diet. I usally feed my boys every other day at least 3-4 each. They hate the floating food but its good for them and their heads..

well feeding oscars live fish(feeder fish) is not very good for them in the long run, let me assure you my 2 juvenile oscars have never ever tasted live fish or dead for that matter, and i will never put a fish ie a neon or a COMET in my tank for my oscar to eat, do you know how many diseases can be passed thru fish by eating feeder fish, thats probably why your oscar has got HITH

if i was you i would stop feeding ur oscar any live fish
trust me it will love you for it and your oscar will be a hell of alot healthier in the long run

if you insist on feeding your fish live comets for example
take this as a precaution guide:
** If you plan on feeding your Oscar feeder fish, you may want to quarantine the feeders for a week or two. Remember, what ever the feeder fish has, your beloved Oscar can also get. Also, be very hesitant to add the feeders' water even to your quarantine tank. Treat the feeders like your important fish and change the temperature slowly, and slowly add your quarantine tank water, then net them and put them in the quarantine tank. That way, they aren't just dying because of the sudden temperature or pH change.
