Sunks keep us updated on how it goes

Fishyfriend its better to cycle with fish that can are hardier to ammonia and nitrite. Oscars are not the best fish to use, danios are a good fish to use but you then have the problem of what to do with them when you are cycled. You can either just add oscar in which case the danios will eventually end up as oscar food or you can return them to a shop

Re:Cycling a Fish Tank 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago
for my first tank, with all brand new stuff, it took about 4 weeks to cycle without fish. i just let the filter run with all the stuff in it and then added fish. for my other 2 tanks, i switched out the filter gear, some rocks water from my first tank and decor and the tank was ready for fish in a week. if u use the filter packets, and some water from the other tank, you'll find that your tank will cycle very quickly.

most people start off with a small tank and keep getting bigger ones. i went the other way and started with a 125 gallon. id like like to get bigger tanks or even 1 of the same size, but unfortunately i dont have the space or money for it. but i got lucky and got my other 2 tanks with a full setup for free.

best of luck with your new tank!!
