im not really a metric kinda person but the tank you describes sounds like about 50 imp gals and in that case i wouldn't go with glass any thinner than 3/8" myself.

but thats just my opinion...

good luck with your build

Pressure increases with depth so its the depth that determines the thickness. Make sure you get that right

Ive built many tanks in the past year and havnt had any tank leak or pop on me and i always use 10mm glass.

im currently building a tank that is 1900mmx750mmx750mm

this is also made out of 10mm glass the depth of the water detemins wheather u go with thicker glass make sure you use a centre brace and two side braces over the top that silicones on the top where yr lids go.

also put sum braces on the base from front to back an from side to side.

never build a tank deeper than 750mm without going for extremly thick glass.

hope this helps

also after looking at yr software it mentions use 4mm side 8mm base.

dont go that route as diifrent thicknesses of glass put un neccasery strain on the glass and silicone.

make yr whole tank out of 10mm glass with all the above bracing and you will be sweet
