overstocking 1 Month, 1 Week ago  
i currently have a 75 gallon tank i got into this hobby because of friends getting out and gettn rid of stuff i currently have my 3 to 4 inch albino a friend was gunna throw a 5 inch red oscar in a pond i took him in and i have 5 inch green severum am i overstoced will i be ok for a while i just feel bad people thrown fish away i currently have two fluval 404 on the tank im tryin to be a filtration freak to keep up in the future what yal think

you will probably be ok for a while.maybe about 7 month or so but eventually you will have to upgrade to a larger tank probably something in the 120 gallon range

I would say everyone in this forum has overstocked at some point. its very common but those of use that have done it soon realise its not the best way to go. the work becomes too much and sooner or later the water conditions go down hill. I have a very easy setup for changing large amounts of water but still think its best to understock. I have tried both, so know. I am now understocked )))

Overstocking is the easiest thing in the world to do. You see a fish that needs a good home and you feel bad for it. You see a fish in the LFS that you just have to have. So don't feel bad most of us have been there done that. The trick is to keep up with the extra maintenance it creates.
